Hairpin Pin is made on a hairpin fork called a stylus that comes in various sizes, together with a crochet hook. The result is a soft, airy lace used in most Afghans, shawls or baby clothes.
At first I was very eager to make these, so I had lots of ideas. But now three years have passed, and it is difficult to think of new ideas, and I often get stuck. I think that when I have more technique and experience, I will probably be more conservative in my designs.
Traditional kanzashi hairpins have a certain dignity, which is really beautiful, but they are difficult to coordinate with Western clothing. That is why they are not worn as often. It's a shame , because it is sad to see the tradition fade away with passing time. Keep Hairpin fork so that the curve is on top. Make a simple loop of yarn. With this loop on the hook, hold the hook to the middle of the fork and wind the yarn from the front around to the back around the right arm of the fork.
