Archie And Gang Receives New Look

From Newsarama's Archie & Riverdale Get A New Look:

While I prefer the classic look, at least Archie and the gang are not going manga like Sabrina. The new art is supposed to make the characters more realistic. I hope that Jughead does not loose his hat or gain weight from eating all those hamburgers (realistically, he should be the size of Moose). I also hope that realistic stories like drug use and pregnant teens do not become part of the new look. Archie comics still make me laugh now as much as they did when I was kid reading them over thirty years ago.

Sam Raimi's Pulp Project

I really hope that the rumors of Sam Raimi's Pulp Project is true. I would love to see Doc Savage teaming up The Shadow and The Avenger. I also would love to see other pulp characters from Street and Smith Publications join them such as The Whisperer, Nick Carter and The Wizard.

Goodnight, Martin Nodell

Martin Nodell, the creator of the Golden Age Green Lantern, died on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the age of 91. I always loved the character's costume.

HBO Developing Preacher

Vertigo's Preacher is being developed as an one hour television series on HBO according to various sources. The comic book series ran from 1995 to 2000 and created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillion. The series was about a down and out Texas preacher possesessed by a being conceived between an angel and a demon known as Genesis.

Mark Steven Johnson is writing the plot for Preacher and Howard Deutch is planning to direct. Johnson is known for his work on the Daredevil and Ghost Rider movies.

Bucky O'Hare Film

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Neal Adams has launched Buzzworthy, a production company to focus on his film projects. He wants to direct and produce Bucky O'Hare as a CGI animated film.

I am hoping that future film projects will include Ms. Mystic, Samuree and Valeria the SheBat, which are my three favorite characters from Continuity Comics.
